Bring out the Best in you, really?

What does that mean exactly?

Bring out the best in you is to create the circumstances where you can exhibit our best qualities, which are usually strength, kindness, patience, courage, etc.

These qualities are already in each and every one of us, but they are not always seen and need to be brought out of every individual in every aspect of life.

Come back to reality!

Nobody is born the best. They are made the ‘better’ every day. And that’s not something that happens overnight though! It happens eventually, over years, with exploring what’s around us and within. By ‘best’ I don’t mean being better compared to other human but by ‘best’ I mean being better today than yesterday.

‘Today’ is the forever the new beginning.

Not many of us can get to understand and practice the tactics to bring out the best in us.To bring out the best, let’s make a list of ways that might help us realize that we can still make us better humans.

1. You take care!

Self-care is essential but is hardly given importance. Self-care is taking care of self at every stage and every aspect of life. Let’s just put in this way, self-care is the No.1 PRIORITY. We are ready for the next day when we have the energy to keep up with chaos and handle anything with ease. But when we don’t, then every day becomes a burden. ‘Taking care of self’ is not being selfish and not care for others. Self-care is upmost because you can help others if you are having a strong grip on yourself first. In that way, everyone can have a chance of getting better. To know whether you are caring for self, check out the below list,

  • Physical self-care:      Things that keeps your body good. (30 minutes of exercises a day)
  • Emotional self care:   Filling your mind with positive energy and cultivate emotional intelligence (Optimism, mind composition)
  • Personal self care:      Get to know yourself (who are you and what you are)
  • Social self care:           Building healthy relationships and creating great boundaries around you. (Friendships, love, work place)
  •  Spiritual self care:       Working on your beliefs. (stronghold of your own ideals, why not start the day with a prayer)
  • Practical self care:       Taking care of every day requirements with respect to finances, everyday jobs. (Balance sheet, daily spending, savings)

Activity: Keep a checklist of above and tick off self-cares before going to bed every day!

2. Start off with something new, might help to bring out the best!

Each of us are unique. We are creative and best on our own way. Start off with something new every time you look for growth. Who knows what we are skilled at! I didn’t know I could put words together to make a blog after 20 years on this planet! Nor didn’t know my legs would run fast until I stepped on the ground few years back! And most importantly, I know I am learning, whether I win or lose. That is what matters.

You gotta do it, peeps!

Step 1: “You can do it!” Train your brain to repeat these words over and over again. Even if you suck at it, you are probably more happy because you had the guts to start something new while the person sitting next to you is not even considering trying it!

Grandma Moses

Step 2: It is never too late to start off.

Anna Mary Robertson Moses, better known as Grandma Moses, began her prolific painting career at 78! In 2006, one of paintings sold for $1.2 million. Guess what, she was a housekeeper and farm laborer.

Step 3: Never be afraid – Be Real, Be whole, Be Innovative and Be Daring!

“Easy for you to say” would have popped up in your head right now. But yeah, the number of times I fell and failed is greater than the number of times I stood and won. But that didn’t put me off from trying new things and learn from it. This world is too fast-forward for someone to keep track of what you do and what you don’t do!

“Success is a lousy teacher. It instills this bad belief in people that they cannot loose in life” – Bill Gates.

Another interesting real-life example is of Mr. Munaf Kapadia, who quit Google to sell samosas! In 2015, he did quit Google and joined The Bohri Kitchen full time, which was just a project back then. Kapadia said this changed his life. “While today The Bohri Kitchen might not be this amazing success and my attempts at scaling it might not have succeeded the way I wanted them to, but it has given me an amount of self-esteem. It has given me confidence, experiences. It allowed me to meet people. It has given me things which no job can honestly offer.” But yeah, with hell lot of challenges included!!

3. Nope, No Comparison whatsoever!

Over years, I have observed that people’s inferiority complex is a major barrier that stops them from moving forward. Now why this inferiority complex is coming out of nowhere? The only possible solution I can come up with is that we tend to compare ourselves with the one another. Frankly, to bring out the best in you, is there any need to compare yourselves with someone who is no hero of your life?!..

  • “What is he doing?”
  • “How is he going to do it?”
  • “What if she is better than me?”
  • “She can already do it; will I ever stand next to her?”
  • “He is so talented and I am not”
  • “I will definitely fail if I compete with them”

Well so on..

But let’s put all these thoughts behind and think for ourselves. By the time we spend comparing, the other is probably is planning a strategy to keep up ahead. Once we start concentrating on us, there would be no place for the comparison.

To bring out the best, the above are the few tips I feel everyone should give a thought about. Honestly, these are never constant to each one of us. It might change from person to person and if I have left out what might be important to you, do enlighten me! Meet you soon with another topic! Until then stay safe, stay focused and be happy.
